BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University senior forward Tyrone Lee (Detroit, Mich./Oakland CC) and Walsh University senior forward Kenny Kornowski (Marshallville, Ohio/Smithville) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Basketball North and South Division "Players of the Week", respectively.

Grand Valley State University senior forward Tyrone Lee put together a career-best effort in the Lakers’ 81-73 victory over Ferris State on Saturday night. Lee notched a game-high 20 points and pulled down a career-best 17 rebounds, just two boards shy of FSU’s entire team total. The 17 rebounds are the most by a GVSU player since the 2001-02 season. Lee was 7-of-13 from the field and made 6-of-10 free throws.

Walsh University senior Kenny Kornowski averaged 26.5 points and 9.5 rebounds as Walsh upset GLIAC North Leader Wayne State and downed rival Malone for the 27th time in the last 30 meetings. The win over Malone enabled the Cavs to retire the coveted Mayor’s Cup for a record sixth time. Kornowski shot 64% from the field in the two games. His two free throws with nine seconds to play provided the final 81-78 margin the win over Wayne State.
