BAY CITY, Mich. - Wayne State University junior guard Chene Phillips (Detroit, Mich.) and Walsh University senior forward Kenny Kornowski (Marshallville, Ohio/Smithville) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Basketball North and South Division "Players of the Week", respectively.

Wayne State University junior guard Chene Phillips helped the Warriors to a pair of road victories last week. He tallied a game-high 29 points along with seven rebounds and 14 assists in the win at Tiffin. Phillips also limited Tiffin's Joe Graessle to four points in the first half as WSU built a 38-25 lead at intermission. He had 20 second-half points including 12-of-12 from the foul line. Phillips contributed 18 points, nine rebounds and two assists in the win at Ohio Dominican. For the week, he averaged 23.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

Walsh University senior forward Kenny Kornowski led his team to a 2-0 record this past weekend. Kornowski had a game-high 24 points and grabbed his fourth double-double of the season in the overtime win against Michigan Technological University. In the win against Northern Michigan University he had 12 points and seven rebounds before fouling out of the game. Kornowski is currently ranked fourth in the GLIAC for rebounds in a game with 10.4.
