2014 GLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament Bracket Set

BAY CITY, Mich. - The field is set for the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Basketball Tournament.  Quarterfinal action will get underway on Wednesday, Mar. 5 on campus sites.

Lake Superior State University claimed the 2014 GLIAC Men's Basketball Championship by virtue of posting the best conference regular season record (18-4).  The Laker earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will host Malone University, the No. 8 seed, in a quarterfinal match-up on Wednesday (7:00 p.m.).

There was a tie for second place in the league between The University of Findlay and Walsh University as both teams recorded a 16-6 conference mark.  Findlay won the tiebreaker and will be the No. 2 seed.  The Oilers will host the No. 7 seed,  Hillsdale College, on Wednesday (7:00 p.m.). Walsh earned the No. 3 seed and will welcome the tournament's No. 6 seed, Northwood University, in quarterfinal action (7:00 p.m.).

Michigan Technological University will be the No. 4 seed and will host Grand Valley State University, the tournament's No. 5 seed, in quarterfinal action (7:30 p.m.).

The highest remaining seed after the quarterfinals will host tournament's semifinals and final on Saturday, Mar. 8 and Sunday, Mar. 9.  The winner of the GLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Tournament.
