LSSU's Daly, Walsh's Hardin Earn GLIAC POW Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly men's basketball awards following the first week of conference action. Lake Superior State senior forward Devin Daly captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Walsh senior guard Jesse Hardin Jr. collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades.


GLIAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 4
North Division
Devin Daly Lake Superior State Forward Sr.

Highlights: Daly helped LSSU improve to 2-0 in GLIAC play and 5-1 on the season with wins over Findlay and Wayne State last weekend. Averaged 26.5 points per game and 11 rebounds per contest on the weekend. Scored a career-high 28 points and hauled in 10 rebounds during Saturday's 76-61 victory over WSU. Picked up 25 points and skyed for 12 rebounds on Thursday against Findlay. Hit 18-of-27 shots from the field (66.7 percent), 4-of-9 (44.4 percent) from behind the arc, and knocked down 13-15 (86.7 percent) of his free throws. Also averaged 2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. 

South Division
Jesse Hardin Jr. Walsh Guard Sr.

Highlights: Hardin Jr. helped Walsh to two wins in the GLIAC-opening weekend with double-doubles in each contest. He averaged 20.5 points and 12 rebounds per game. Against Northern Michigan, he tallied 23 points and pulled down a career-high 13 boards. Overall, he was 14-of-28 from the field for the weekend and 7-of-11 from 3-point range for a 63.6 percent success rate.
