Hillsdale's Cooper, Michigan Tech's Stankowski Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

BAY CITY, Mich - Hillsdale senior Kyle Cooper and Michigan Tech senior Kyle Stankowski have been named to the 2015-16 CoSIDA Academic All-District Four Team for men's basketball at the NCAA Division II level on Thursday (Feb. 11). Both individuals achieved this distinction during the 2014-15 campaign as well.

Hillsdale senior Kyle Cooper boasts a 3.89 grade-point average in accounting while leading the Chargers on the hardwood as one of the best players in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Cooper is averaging a league-best 22.0 points per contest and is second in rebounds at a 9.9 per game clip. 

Michigan Tech senior Kyle Stankowski has compiled a 3.93 cumulative GPA on his way to completing his electrical engineering degree in Houghton. Stankowski is averaging 6.6 points per contest shooting 50.5 percent from the field pulling down three rebounds per game for the Huskies.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic AllAmerica honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
