Five GLIAC Programs Inside NCAA Men's Midwest Region Rankings

NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS -- Five Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's basketball teams appeared in the final 2016 NCAA Division II Midwest Region Rankings released on Wednesday (March 1). The 2016 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament Selection Show will take place this Sunday, March 6th at 10:30 PM on NCAA.com. The Top 8 in each region will qualify for the postseason championships.

The Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals dropped one spot to No. 3 in the region to lead the conference, while Ashland sits one spot behind in the No. 4 position. Findlay occupies the No. 7 ranking, while Ferris State is No. 9 with Lake Superior State holding on at No. 10. SVSU, Findlay and LSSU were all eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2016 GLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament on Tuesday evening, while Ashland and Ferris State were victorious.

The Midwest Region includes schools from the GLIAC, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The GLVC holds four regional ranking positions with the G-MAC earning one spot.
