The big GLIAC doubleheader on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 21) in Allendale between Grand Valley State and Saginaw Valley State will be broadcast nationally on the American Sports Network. In the Battle of the Valleys showdown, the women's game will start at noon from the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena, while the men's game is slated for a 2:00 p.m. tipoff.

The American Sports Network primarily deals in college sports from NCAA Division I conferences, mostly in the mid-major conferences from Division I, but also features Division II conferences and teams throughout the athletic year. Known as the ASN, the company produces broadcasts of sporting events aired primarily across stations owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, most commonly on stations like The CW and MyNetworkTV.

While the game will be aired live in certain areas, fans can also watch the game on ASN tape delayed on Sunday night (Jan. 22), with the men's game airing at 9:00 p.m. and the women's game following at 11:00 p.m. Fans can also click on the NCAA.com link above to watch the games live on Saturday afternoon.

The men's game can be seen in Michigan at 2:00 p.m. on the following stations:

The doubleheader is expected to be a terrific showcase for the GLIAC, with the women's game featuring two of the top four teams in the conference. Grand Valley State (12-4 overall) is 7-3 in league play and in a tie for third place in the GLIAC at 7-3, while Saginaw Valley State (13-3) is in second place in the conference with a 9-1 record. The teams met twice in last year's postseason, with GVSU defeating the Cardinals in both the GLIAC Tournament and Midwest Region Tournament semifinals.

On the men's side, the Laker men are 7-3 in conference play and Grand Valley State (11-6 overall) are in a four-way tie for second place in the league standings. Saginaw Valley State (also 11-6) is just 4-6 in conference play, but in the opening week of December, the Cardinals were the #1 ranked team in all of Division II. GVSU and SVSU have split the four meetings over the last two seasons, with three of those games being decided by four points or less.

Both Laker teams head to the Upper Peninsula next week to take on Michigan Tech on Thursday night (Jan. 26) and Northern Michigan on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 28).
