Ferris State Rises, Findlay Drops in Men's Basketball Region Rankings

NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS -- Four Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's basketball teams appeared in the third NCAA Division II Midwest Region Rankings of 2017 released on Wednesday (March 1).

The GLIAC champion Ferris State Bulldogs improved one spot to No. 2 in the region to pace the conference, while Findlay dropped one position to No. 6. Lake Superior State (No. 9) and Wayne State (No. 10) remained in their respective positions from one week ago. Both FSU and UF picked up wins in the GLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament quarterfinals, while LSSU and WSU were eliminated from the conference tournament on Tuesday (Feb. 28) night.

The Midwest Region includes schools from the GLIAC, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The GLVC holds five regional ranking positions, while the G-MAC is represented by Kentucky Wesleyan at No. 5.

The 2016 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament Selection Show will take place this Sunday, March 5th at 10:30 PM on NCAA.com. The Top 8 in each region will qualify for the postseason championships.
