Ferris State's Ruff, Ashland's Osborne Claim GLIAC Player of the Week Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly men's basketball awards following the first weekend of the new calendar year. Ferris State senior guard Quentin Ruff earned GLIAC Men's Basketball North Division honors, while Ashland senior guard Boo Osborne captured South Division accolades.


NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Quentin Ruff, Ferris State

Ferris State University senior guard Quentin Ruff led the Bulldogs to a decisive 112-58 road win over Ohio Valley on Friday as FSU opened the second half of the year with a dominating non-league win. Ruff tallied a game-high 23 points with five rebounds, an assist and a steal as the Bulldogs topped the century mark for the first time this year. He knocked down seven three-pointers in the win and shot 61.5% from the floor along with 70% (7-10) from beyond the three-point line. His play helped FSU open up a 30-point halftime lead and the Bulldogs stretched the margin to 40 plus points early in the second half as they cruised to the win.


SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Boo Osborne, Ashland

In a 94-56 win over Thiel on Friday night at Kates Gymnasium, Ashland junior guard Boo Osborne turned in a season-high 15 points and a career-high-tying 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. He added four assists, and was 5-for-7 from the field, 2-for-2 from 3-point range and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
