BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -- The field for the 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championships is down to 32 with a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) teams set to meet in Sunday's (March 11) Midwest Region Semifinal on the campus of Ferris State University at 7:30 PM.

Ferris State pulled away in the second half to earn a victory on home court over former GLIAC opponents Ohio Dominican. FSU held a slim one-point advantage at the break before outscoring ODU 45-28 in the second half. Ferris State's Zach Hankins paced the Bulldogs with 16 points and 11 rebounds, including 8-for-8 from the foul line as four starters reached double-figure scoring. FSU used a perfect 18-for-18 from the free throw line to put the game away while holding their opponent to 34.3 percent shooting.

Lake Superior State once again took care of the basketball committing just five turnovers on the day while forcing 11 Hillsdale miscues into 14 points as the Lakers earned the postseason victory and forced a rematch of last Sunday's GLIAC Tournament Championship game with Ferris State. Lake State dished out 18 assists and produced 42 points off the bench in the victory against the former conference foe. LSSU also recorded 12 fastbreak points on the night compared to zero for Hillsdale. Carson Manger led all scorers with 17 points off the bench for the Lakers, while Malek Adams poured in 16 of his own off the pine. LSSU's Akaemji Williams added 16 points, eight assists and five steals in the victory.
