GLIAC - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2019 All-GLIAC Men's Basketball Teams, as well as player of the year, freshman of the year and coach of the year. Awards were presented at the GLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament banquet Friday at Davenport University.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Dyllon Hudson-Emory - Davenport

Dyllon Hudson-Emory, a 6-7 senior guard/forward from Harrisburg, Pa., led a well-balanced Davenport team to the 2019 GLIAC men's basketball regular-season title by averaging 18.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He ranked fourth in the GLIAC in overall scoring and 14th in rebounding. He led the league in field goals made (197), was fourth in free throws made (121) and fifth in offensive rebounds (61). He scored 20 or more points in 13 games and recorded regular-season double doubles against Purdue Northwest and Northwood, and scored a season-high tying 29 points during the Panthers 85-84 GLIAC quarterfinal victory over the Timberwolves.

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR - Ja'Kavien Lewis, Northwood

Ja’Kavien Lewis had an outstanding freshman season for Northwood, leading the GLIAC in assists (170) and assists per game (6.1) during his first collegiate season. The Flint, Mich., native finished the regular season averaging 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists. His 170 assists this season rank second on the Northwood single-season list. Lewis dished out at least eight assists 10 times this season. Lewis is the second Northwood player to win GLIAC Freshman of the Year, joining Aaron Simpson (2006).

COACH OF THE YEAR - Burt Paddock - Davenport

Burt Paddock, in his 11th season at Davenport, guided the Panthers to the athletic program's first GLIAC regular-season title since they joined the league in 2017-18. Davenport heads into the 2019 GLIAC Tournament semifinals with a league-best 17-3 record (26-3 overall) and 13-game win streak. The Panthers lead the GLIAC in steals per game (9.4) and free throws made per game (17.0). They rank second in the league in scoring offense (83.1 ppg) and fourth in scoring defense (70.9). Paddock built a team with a balanced attack, including six players averaging 9.9 or more points per game, and two who rank among the GLIAC top 10 in scoring.
