Lake Superior State's Stein, Davenport's Hudson-Emory Selected GLIAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following the second week of the 2018-19 men's basketball season. Lake Superior State sophomore forward Rog Stein earned GLIAC Men's Basketball North Division honors, while Davenport senior forward Hudson-Emory captured South Division accolades.


NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rog Stein - Lake Superior State

Lake Superior State sophomore forward Rog Stein averaged 14.5 points per game on 44.4 percent shooting, while dishing out 3.0 assists per game, grabbing 10.0 rebounds per game and recording one double-double as the Lakers went 2-0 on the week. Stein scored a team-leading 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting with seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in the Lakers' season-opening 85-63 win over the Alaska Nanooks in a neutral-site game on Friday in Anchorage, Alaska. On Saturday, Stein garnered a double-double in the Lakers' 67-58 win at Alaska Anchorage. He scored a team-best 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting and 2-of-2 shooting from the free throw line, while securing 13 rebounds (5 offensive), three assists and three steals in 33 minutes.


SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dyllon Hudson-Emory - Davenport

Davenport senior forward Hudson-Emory delivered in the clutch during DU's lone game this week. The Panthers trailed Calvin for most of the game but pulled out a 68-66 win in their home opener. Hudson-Emory scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the second half alone and finished with 24 points and 11 boards in 38 minutes. Through three games this season, he is averaging 16.3 points, nine rebounds and is shooting 58.3 percent from the floor.
