NMU's Bjorklund receives GLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced that Northern Michigan senior guard Max Bjorklund has been named GLIAC Player of the Week following week five of the 2022-23 men's basketball season. This is the third time that Bjorklund has been recognized with the conference honor this year. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Max Bjorklund, Northern Michigan

Northern Michigan's senior guard Max Bjorklund has earned his third GLIAC Player of the Week honors this season after leading the Wildcats to a 2-0 weekend with an 89-77 win over Ferris State and 87-72 victory over Lake Superior State. Against the Bulldogs, Bjorklund scored 18 points while adding 7 rebounds and a pair of assists. In the matchup with the Lakers, he scored 23 points with 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Bjorklund went 14-15 from the free-throw line on the weekend. On the season, he is averaging 21.9 ppg on 47.8% shooting from the floor and 41.3% from three. His scoring mark is is the best in the GLIAC and the ninth best in the country.
