Ohio Dominican Climbs to First Place After Round 2 of the 2013 GLIAC Men's Golf Championship

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Ohio Dominican University fought through the tough weather conditions to claim first place after the second round of the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Golf Championship.  The tournament is being played at the Eagle Eye Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich.

The Panthers shot a five-over-par round of 293 at Eagle Eye to take a three-stroke lead into day three of the tournament.  ODU posted a 15-over-par 303 in the second round, playing through windy and rainy conditions. Ohio Dominican finished the first round in second place after shooting an eight-over-par round of 296.

Ashland University posted the best round of the day, carding a 13-over-par round of 301 to move into second place.  The Eagles entered round two tied for fifth place after shooting a 301 in round one.

Saginaw Valley State University climbed from fourth place into third place after the second round.  The Cardinals posted a 19-over-par 307 in round two and now have a 607 total

Ohio Dominican has two players tied for the individual lead.  Nick Reardon (72-75) and Tyler Smith (75-72) have both tallied three-over-par scores of 147 through two rounds.  Three players are tied at +4, just one shot back of the leaders.

The tournament will conclude with third-round play Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
