Malone University Claims 2013 GLIAC Men's Golf Championship

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Malone University fought through the tough weather conditions for the second consecutive day to claim the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Golf Championship.  The tournament was played at the Eagle Eye Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich.

The Pioneers shot a seven-over-par round of 295 for round three at Eagle Eye, finishing with a 903 total and just one stroke better than  Ashland University and Ohio Dominican University.

Ashland, which started the round in second place, shot a final round 302.  Leaders after the second round, Ohio Dominican posted a 305 third round total to finish in a tie for second.

Saginaw Valley State University junior Wyatt Drost (Charlevoix, Mich. / Charlevoix HS) earned individual medallist honors at the event.  Drost carded a three round total of 219 (70-78-71, +3), helping the Cardinals to a fourth place finish.
