Complete NCAA Men's Golf Regional Selections Release

NCAA.com -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has four programs headed to 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Superior Regionals at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio. Grand Valley State is the No. 1 seed coming off their second straight GLIAC Championship one week ago as the Lakers look to use that momentum as a springboard to a trip to the national finals in Alabama. Wayne State (No. 4), Saginaw Valley (No. 7) and Wayne State (No. 9) all cemented their spots in the postseason tournament.

Ferris State's Andrew Hammett is also headed to Findlay as an individual following his victory at the 2018 GLIAC Men's Golf Championship last week. Hammett racked up two victories during the 2017-18 season, including impressive wins against strong fields at the GLIAC Championship and SVSU Spring Invitational along with a T11 finish at the Final Fall Invite hosted at the Findlay Country Club site of this year's regional. Hammett's other notable finish was a tie for 8th at the Tiffin-hosted Kyle Ryman Memorial.

At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional (regardless of region) will advance to the finals May 21-25, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals, Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.  The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven.  The finals will be hosted by the University of North Alabama.
