GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has named Ferris State senior Andrew Hammett as its men's golf player of the week for spring matches through March 18.
MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Andrew Hammett - Ferris State
Senior Andrew Hammett (Bradenton, Fla., shot a 70-66--136 to take medalist honors and lead Ferris State to the team title at the SVSU Spring Invitational held March 16-17 at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky.
Hammett finished two strokes ahead of Grand Valley State's Messner, and three strokes ahead of teammate Jack Weller and Ashland's Austin Kondralick. FSU moved up six spots in the team standings during Sunday's final round. Twenty-one teams competed in the event.
