2012 GLIAC Men's Soccer Tournament Field Set

BAY CITY, Mich. - The field for the 2012 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Soccer Tournament field is set after the last games of the regular season were completed on Sunday (Oct. 28).  GLIAC Men's Soccer Tournament is a six-team event with two quarterfinal matches to be played on Tuesday, Oct. 30 on campus sites.

Saginaw Valley State University claimed the 2012 GLIAC Men's Soccer Championship by earning the most points during regular season play.  The Cardinals will be the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will host the semifinals on Friday (Nov. 2) and final on Sunday (Nov. 4).

Notre Dame College is the GLIAC South Division co-champion and will carry the No. 2 seed into the tournament.  The Falcons tied for first in the South with Ohio Dominican University, but edged out the Panthers on a tiebreaker.  Both SVSU and Notre Dame earned byes in the first round of the tournament.

Ohio Dominican will be the tournament's No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 Malone University on Tuesday (2:00 p.m.) in a tournament quarterfinal match.

Northwood University is the No. 4 seed and will welcome fifth-seeded Ashland University in the other quarterfinal match on Tuesday (2:00 p.m.).

Notre Dame will face the winner of the Ohio Dominican/Malone match at Noon on Friday at the SVSU Soccer Field.  Saginaw Valley State will play the winner of the Northwood/Ashland quarterfinal at 2:30 p.m. on Friday on its home field.

The winners of the semifinal matches will meet on the SVSU Soccer Field on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
