AUSTIN, Texas – Senior goalkeeper Johannes Sterobo of Northwood University headlines the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men's soccer teams as the Academic All-America of the Year, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Sterobo is a senior from Odense, Denmark. He has a 3.99 G.P.A. and is an international business major. He is now a two-time 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-America® after earning third team honors in 2014. He was recently named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year. He earned second team All-GLIAC accolades a year ago. 

He led ninth-ranked Northwood to its first GLIAC championship. That was followed by a 3-1 win over Saginaw Valley State University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament second round to reach the third round, where they will face Rockhurst University.

Northwood owns a 17-1-1 record, with Sterobo seeing all but 57 minutes in goal. In addition to the 17-1-1 record, he has a 0.48 goals-against average with 12 shutouts and a .864 save percentage. He ranks first in the GLIAC and second in Division II in shutouts, and first in the conference and sixth nationally in save percentage. He also paces the GLIAC in goals against average and wins. He has allowed just nine goals all season.

For his career, Sterobo ranks second among active Division II players with 29 shutouts. He holds eight Northwood goalkeeping records, including career wins (45), shutouts, and save percentage.

CoSIDA Academic All-America® Women's Soccer Division II Team

Junior midfielder Marti Corby of Grand Valley State University moved up from the second team to earn a spot on the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-America® team. She has a 3.60 G.P.A. as a pre-med major. The Lakers are currently 20-1-0 and have advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

The 2014 NSCAA Division II Player of the Year and a two-time Daktronics first team All-American, Corby currently ranks first in Division II in assists (16), second in total points (62), and third in goals (23). She is a three-time All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team selection, and was named the 2015 GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year.

The rest of the CoSIDA Academic All-America® first team includes Columbus State University's Maylyn Parsons, Shelby Rolling and Nicole Corcione, Grand Valley State University's Clare Carlson, Breanne Hatfield of Minot State University, Maria Marti Bartis of Clayton State University, and Embry-Riddle University's Andrea Froshaug.
