GLIAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week - Week 4

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards after the final weekend in September. Saginaw Valley senior forward Tyler Channell earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth consecutive week. Lake Erie senior defender Joseph Coombs collected GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades after a standout performance for the Storm last week.

Offense
Tyler Channell Saginaw Valley State Forward Sr.

Highlights: Channell had another big weekend leading the Cardinals to a pair of victories over GLIAC opponents Findlay and Tiffin. Channell had an assist in the team's 5-1 victory over the Oilers on Friday before notching his second hat trick in a week's span, scoring the first three of SVSU's goals in a 4-1 win over Tiffin on Sunday.

Defense
Joseph Coombs Lake Erie Defender Sr.
Highlights: Coombs anchored the Storm defensive unit that allowed just one goal last week in two road victories over Walsh and Malone. Coombs scored a goal in the 6-1 win over Walsh where the LEC back line allowed just three shots on net before blanking Malone 1-0 on the road where the Storm gave up four shots on target.
