Official D2 CCA All-America Release
Two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's soccer standouts have been named Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2 CCA) All-Americans. Tiffin senior forward Andre Landell was selected to the Third Team, while Saginaw Valley senior forward Matt Wilson earned Honorable Mention recognition.
Landell, 2016 D2 CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year, led the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) in goals with 15 and was second in the conference assists and points. He was named the 2016 GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year, an award he also claimed in 2014. Landell ranks in the top 15 in Division II and goals and points. He is a four-time All-GLIAC selection and was previously named an NSCAA All-American. Landell helped the Dragons win the GLIAC Tournament Championship and attain the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Regional.
Wilson completed his junior season at the Cardinals' leading goal scorer, finishing with 15. The junior forward ranked tops in several GLIAC statistics, placing first in points (41), assists (11), and had six game-winning goals (ranks 2nd in GLIAC). He tied for third in the league with 56 shots. Wilson now sits fourth in program history with 21 career goals in just his second season for the Cardinals. He earned All-GLIAC First Team honors for his solid performance in 2016.
