Davenport's Shrimpton, Tiffin's Howell Claim Weekly Men's Soccer Accolades

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 3 of the 2017 men's soccer season. Davenport junior forward Brogan Shrimpton earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the third straight week, while Tiffin graduate center back Nathan Howell claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Brogan Shrimpton, Davenport

Davenport junior forward Brogan Shrimpton didn't slow down after two consecutive GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors with a four-goal, one-assist outburst in a 5-0 win over Ashland on Friday. His four goals and nine points are both second for a match in school history. Shrimpton now has 12 goals in six matches this season. He then took six shots with two second half headers on goal in a 1-0 loss to Tiffin.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Nathan Howell, Tiffin

Tiffin graduate center back Nathan Howell led the Dragons defense in their 2-0 week. TU posted a 2-1 win over Purdue Northwest, holding PNW to just one shot on goal in the second half. The Dragons then defeated Davenport 1-0, holding the Panthers off the scoreboard in the shutout victory.
