GLIAC Champs Northwood Sweep Final GLIAC Player of the Week Laurels

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 9 of the 2017 men's soccer season. Northwood freshman midfielder Sebastian Grillo earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Northwood senior defender Brady Cole claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Sebastian Grillo, Northwood

Northwood freshman midfielder Sebastian Grillo made his first career goal a memorable one, scoring in the 82nd minute of Northwood's GLIAC Championship-clinching win over Saginaw Valley. Grillo played 12 minutes in the game and had one shot, but his strike found the back of the net to give the Timberwolves their second GLIAC regular season Championship in school history.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Brady Cole, Northwood

Northwood senior defender Brady Cole led the way defensively for Northwood in the Timberwolves 1-0 road win over Saginaw Valley, a win that clinched the GLIAC Championship for Northwood. He played all 90 minutes in the back, holding the GLIAC's top offensive team off the board.
