Northwood's Stacey, Saginaw Valley's Wright Collect GLIAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the first week of the 2018 men's soccer season. Northwood senior midfielder Teddy Stacey earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Saginaw Valley freshman midfielder Joe Wright claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Teddy Stacey - Northwood

Northwood senior midfielder Teddy Stacey turned in one of the best individual performance in Northwood history Sunday in the Timberwolves' 5-2 win over Missouri S&T. He had a part in all five Timberwolves goals, finishing with a goal and four assists. His four assists are a new school record, breaking the old mark of three which was done three times. His six points in a game are the fifth-most in program history. Northwood is 2-0 to start the year.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Joe Wright - Saginaw Valley

Saginaw Valley freshman midfielder Joe Wright played a huge part defensively in leading the Cardinals to a 1-0-1 record over the weekend in regional action. The Cardinals played to a 0-0 double overtime draw against the No. 1 team in the country, Charleston, before pulling out a 2-1 win over Alderson Broaddus.
