Davenport's Shrimpton, Northern Michigan's Kliebe Garner GLIAC Men's Soccer Weekly Accolades

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the fifth week of the 2018 men's soccer season. Davenport senior forward Brogan Shrimpton earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Northern Michigan freshman goalkeeper Valentin Kliebe claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brogan Shrimpton - Davenport

Davenport senior forward Brogan Shrimpton was a major catalyst in Davenport's 4-1 upset win on the road at league-leading Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday. Shrimpton scored the first two goals of the contest and now has six goals this season and 34 in his career. He totaled six shots including five shots on goal and was a presence up front all game.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Valentin Kliebe - Northern Michigan

Northern Michigan freshman goalkeeper Valentin Kliebe shutout Ashland and Saginaw Valley for 200 minutes on the road between the posts over the weekend. Kliebe stopped all 15 shots faced, including 11 stops in a scoreless draw at SVSU, and improved his record to 4-0-2. Kliebe now leads the GLIAC with a 0.17 GAA and .971 save percentage. He has not allowed a goal in 448:27.
