Northern Michigan Men's Soccer Earns First National Ranking in Program History

KANSAS CITY, MO. — Northern Michigan University is the lone Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) program ranked inside the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) national men's soccer poll after three weeks of competition. NMU is positioned No. 22 in the country after a pair of GLIAC victories over Davenport (2-1) and Purdue Northwest (5-1) to improve their record to 4-1, including four straight wins. The Wildcats are ranked inside the Top 25 for the first time ever -- currently in year three of the program's existence. 

Northwood is also receiving votes in the weekly release but outside the Top 25. The Timberwolves also took down Purdue Northwest (1-0) and Davenport (2-1) to move to 4-2 on the year and 2-0 to open conference play. Saginaw Valley fell out of the Top 25 after a 1-0 defeat to Parkside.
