UWP's Prpa and AU's Renner Earn GLIAC Men's Soccer Weekly Awards

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the sixth week of the 2019 men's soccer season. Parkside senior Leki Prpa earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Ashland defender Joseph Renner claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Leki Prpa - Parkside 

Leki Prpa was instrumental in Parkside going 1-0 on the week, with a crucial road win over Northern Michigan. The win brought the Rangers to 5-1 in the GLIAC, and atop the standings with Davenport. In the game against the Wildcats, Prpa assisted on a go-ahead goal in the 35th minute, and added a goal of his own in the 58th minute.

 


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Joseph Renner - Ashland

Renner scored the lone goal in the 67th minute of Ashland's 1-0 win at Davenport on Friday. It was AU's only game of the week.
Renner, a center back, was a part of a back line that posted its third straight clean sheet, and its fourth in the last five games.
