Bay City, Mich. -- University Indianapolis junior Maura Donahue (Milan, Mich./Milan) and Wayne State University senior Andrey Seryy (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) were named CollegeSwimming.com's Women's and Men's "Swimmers of the Week," respectively, for their efforts last weekend.
Maura Donahue University of Indy had two wins to help her team to a third place finish at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships; the 200 freestyle (1:50.68, NCAA “B” Time), the 100 freestyle (50.70, NCAA “B” Time) and a third place swim in the 1000 freestyle (10:16.53, NCAA “B” Time). The junior also assisted on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:33.37, NCAA “A” time), the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:25.55, NCAA “A” Time), the second place 800 freestyle relay (7:31.92, NCAA “B” Time) and the third place 400 medley relay (3:48.86, NCAA “B” Time)
Andrew Seryy had three wins to help his team to a first place finish at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships; the 50 freestyle (19.72, NCAA “A” Time), the 200 freestyle (1:37.37, NCAA “A” Time) and the 100 freestyle (43.38 NCAA “A” Time). The senior also assisted on the winning 200 free relay (1:22.07 NCAA “B” Time , Lead off leg 20.01 NCAA “A” Time), the winning 400 free relay (2:59.33 NCAA “A” Time, lead off in 43.44 NCAA “A” Time), the third place 400 Medley relay (3:19.94 NCAA “B”) and the exhibition 200 medley relay (1:31.41 NCAA “B” Time).
