BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University senior Carly Bush (Grandville, Mich./Byron Center) and senior Aaron Beebe (Grand Haven, Mich.) were named Great Lake Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's and Men's Swimming & Diving "Athletes of the Week," respectively, for their efforts last weekend.

Senior Carly Bush (Grandville, Mich./Byron Center) tallied a pair of individual first-place finishes and added a second-place finish swimming the third leg of the 200 medley relay team. Bush touched first in the 1000 freestyle (10:34.68), finishing more than 13 seconds ahead of second place, followed by a first-place finish in the 500 free (5:09.29). GVSU's 200 medley relay team touched second (1:49.80).

Senior Aaron Beebe (Grand Haven, Mich.) recorded three first-place finishes as the Lakers competed against Division I foe Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Beebe touched first in the 200 free (1:42.96), 200 butterfly (1:55.12) and swam the butterfly leg of GVSU's first-place finished 200 medley relay team that touched the wall in 1:34.96.
