CANTON, Ohio - CANTON, Ohio - The Wayne State University men's and women's swimming & diving teams maintained their leads after the second day of competition at the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Ashland University at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio.

The Wayne State women's team has recorded 354.5 points through the first two days of the event, holding a 121-point advantange over the University of Indianapolis (233.5 points). Grand Valley State University is currently in third place with 196.5 points. The Warriors held on to first place on the strength of some impressive individual performances. Sophomore Kaylee Dolinski finished first in the 500-yard freestyle event, while junior Kayla Scott placed first in the 200-yard individual medley. WSU junior Carol Azambuja recorded an NCAA A-cut time of 23.04 while placing first in the 50-yard freestyle and junior Paige Kortman took first place in the 1-meter diving event.
The WSU men's team has posted 294 points through the first two days of the event, holding a 42-point advantage over second place Grand Valley State University (252 points). The University of Indianapolis sits in third place in the men's standings with 247 points. The Warriors got a first place finish from sophomore Piotr Jachowicz in the 200-yard IM (1:52.01).
Competition resumes on day 3 of the Championships on Friday morning with the preliminary events at 10:30 a.m. Friday's finals will begin at 5:30 p.m.
