Ferris State's Laurent Galarneau Named GLIAC Men's Tennis "Athlete of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. - Ferris State University sophomore Laurent Galarneau (Sophomore/Quebec,Canada/Demortagne) earned GLIAC Men's Tennis "Athlete of the Week" honors.

Ferris State University men’s tennis standout Laurent Galarneau helped the Bulldogs remain unbeaten in GLIAC play this season with two conference wins. Galarneau posted a 2-1 singles mark at the number one flight in three outings last week with the lone loss coming to Ross VanderPloeg of Divsion I Western Michigan.  He was also 2-1 in doubles play with the only setback being a 9-7 decision against the Broncos.  Against GLIAC competition, Galarneau posted decisive wins in both singles and doubles action against both Lake Superior State and Michigan Tech. He won his singles contests by 6-1, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-1 margins while teaming with Razvan Mag for 8-2 and 8-6 doubles triumphs against LSSU and MTU, respectively.
