Northwood's Lorenzo Montegiorgi Named GLIAC Men's Tennis "Athlete of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. - Northwood University sophomore Lorenzo Montegiorgi (Velletri, Italy) earned GLIAC Men's Tennis "Athlete of the Week" honors.

Northwood University sophomore Lorenzo Montegiorgi went 4-0 last week, leading Northwood to a pair of victories and their 20th straight GLIAC Championship. He teamed with Jean Menard to go 2-0 at the No. 1 doubles position. Montegiorgi then went 2-0 at No. 2 singles, winning both matches in straight sets. For the season, he has gone 27-5 overall in singles and double play, including a 19-3 record in GLIAC play. Northwood will take on Michigan Tech in the first round of the GLIAC Men's Tennis Tournament hosted at the Midland Community Tennis Center, Friday, April 25 starting at 6:00 p.m.
