BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its first men's tennis weekly awards for the 2017 campaign. Grand Valley State sophomore claimed GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors after an impressive week at the No. 1 singles position.
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Sebastien Lescoulie, Grand Valley State
The Grand Valley State sophomore has opened the season on a hot streak, going 4-0 in singles play over the course of the first two weeks of the season. Lescoulie went 2-0 over the weekend at No. 1 singles against Hillsdale and Findlay, posting a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Hillsdale’s Charlie Adams and a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 win over Findlay’s Oriol Ferrer. In doubles play this past weekend, the second-year Laker paired with Alex van de Steenoven to win at No. 2 doubles against Hillsdale 8-5.
