Ferris State's Munoz Baroja Named GLIAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its fourth men's tennis weekly awards for the 2018 campaign. Ferris State University sophomore Pablo Munoz Baroja has been named GLIAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Pablo Munoz Baroja, Ferris State

Ferris State University sophomore Pablo Munoz Baroja went unbeaten last week with a perfect 6-0 mark as the Bulldogs rolled to three non-league victories on the road. He teamed up with Mathis Guerre to win three consecutive doubles matches in convincing fashion at the number three flight. Additionally, in singles play, he went 3-0 while playing three different spots in the FSU lineup from third to fifth singles. He claimed a pair of straight-set wins and also pulled out a three-set victory in moving up to the third flight.

His play helped the Bulldogs start their annual spring break trip 3-0 with a regional victory at Southern Indiana followed by back-to-back wins to open the Spring TennisFest event in Hilton Head (S.C.) against Chowan and Salem International. The win over Chowan came in a rematch of last year’s NCAA D2 Sweet Sixteen clash won by the Bulldogs.
