AU's Windle and Loughney Chosen As GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. - Ashland University freshman Drew Windle (New Albany, Ohio) and senior Ryan Loughney (Grahamsville, N.Y./Tri-Valley) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

Freshman -
New Albany, Ohio

Windle finished first in the 800 meters at the NCAA Division II Challenge last weekend. His time of 1:51.45 is a provisional qualification for nationals.  The freshman was part of the 4X4 relay that was fourth (3:17.00) at the D-II Challenge. That quartet has the third best clocking (3:13.00) in the country.  The AU men captured first place at the D-II Challenge.

 

 

 

 

 

 

GLIAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week:

 

 

Ryan Loughney - Ashland University
Senior -
Grahamsville, N.Y./Tri-Valley

Loughney recorded a mark of 75-5.25 in the weight throw last Friday at Findlay. That distance leads all of NCAA Division II.  Loughney is the defending national champion in the weight throw. He’s part of an AU men’s team that is ranked fifth in the country.
