GVSU's Emmorey and AU's Grey Chosen As GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University senior Tyler Emmorey (Cedar Springs, Mich.) and Ashland University junior Garrett Grey (Grahamsville, N.Y./Tri-Valley) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

Tyler Emmorey had a hand in two provisional qualifying marks over the weekend at the GVSU Big Meet. On Friday (Feb. 10), Emmorey finished fifth in the mile run invite with a time of 4:07.96, a provisional mark and only four tenths of a second behind the GVSU school record. On Saturday (Feb. 11), Emmorey ran the anchor leg of the distance medley relay team that won the event with a time of 9:56.66, another provisional qualifying mark.

Grahamsville, N.Y./Tri-Valley

Garrett Grey unleashed his best throw of the season in the weight throw (67-4.75) last weekend at the Akron Invitational. Grey finished fourth at the event and has the fourth best mark in the nation in the weight throw. As of last week, the AU men were ranked second in the country.
