Release Courtsey of Tom Lewis: U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, Communications Manager
NEW ORLEANS -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has three teams ranked in the Computer Team Rankings released Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Saint Augustine’s takes over the top spot of the men’s poll for the first time since week three of the 2011 season, and while the Grand Valley State women remain No. 1 for the 20th consecutive edition of the rankings, their hold on the top spot is significantly looser.
Though the Falcons of Saint Augustine’s were idle this past weekend, they were the beneficiaries of the removal of preseason times, marks and scores from the rankings calculations. They made a net gain of 27.21 points for a total of 203.33.
Ashland jumped two spots to No. 2 behind the combination of three top-five times/marks this past weekend and the absence of preseason data to make a net gain of 56.62 points for a total of 188.07. Drew Windle ran the Division’s best 800 at 1:49.36, the 4×400 relay team posted the second-best time at 3:12.16, and vaulter Eric Klucar ranks fourth nationally at 16-4¾ (5.00m).
Defending National Champion Grand Canyon slipped 13.02 points and a spot to No.3 with 170.03, but it was No. 4 Adams State that took the largest hit, losing 81.15 points to slide from No. 1 a week ago with a total of 128.70. Grand Valley State moved up two spots to No. 5 with 127.29 to round out the top ten.
The National Computer Team Rankings project how a team will finish in a National Championship Meet setting, rather than a triangular or dual. The rankings are compiled from meet data in the 2012-13 season.
The next round of computer rankings will be released February 12. The 2013 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Birmingham, Ala., March 7-9.
