Ashland's Windle and Lake Erie's Postwaite Chosen As GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. -  Ashland University junior Drew Windle (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) and Lake Erie College junior Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

 

GLIAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week:

Drew Windle - Ashland University
Junior - New Albany, Ohio / New Albany

Ashland Univeristy junior Drew Windle won the 800 last Friday at the Youngstown State Invitational. His time of 1:50.59 was a facility record. Windle, the defending NCAA Division II champion in the event, has the second fastest time in the country this season. Windle was part of the 4X4 relay that finished first at Youngstown State (3:17.28). That relay has the second fastest time in the nation.

 

 

 

 

 

GLIAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week:

 

Joe Postwaite - Lake Erie College
Junior - Rochester, N.Y. / Gates-Chili

 

Lake Erie College junior Joe Postwaite took first place in both the high jump and triple jump in the Jan. 24 Youngstown State Invitational. In the high jump he notched the NCAA-II’s third-best mark of the season (and a DII provisional mark) with a leap of 2.12 meters (6-11.5). Postwaite registered another provisional performance when he bested the competition in the triple jump by a whopping four feet. In that event he carded a 15.37-meter (50-05.75) performance, setting the nation’s second-best distance of the season and a new facility mark at YSU’s Watson and Tressel Training Site.
