AU's Distance Medlay Relay Team and  LEC's Postwaite Chosen As GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. - The Ashland University Distance Medley Relay team of Brian Baum (New Bremen, Ohio/New Bremen), Drew Windle (New Albany, Ohio), Jacob Cook (Lima, Ohio / Allen East) and Joshua Davis ( Summit Pt., W.V. / Washington) and Lake Erie College junior Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y. / Gates-Chili) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

Ashland’s distance relay ran at Hillsdale last week and finished first in 9:55.79. That is an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division II Championships. The time ranks as the third fastest in the nation this season.


Joe Postwaite - Lake Erie College
Junior - Rochester, N.Y. / Gates-Chili

Junior Joe Postwaite set a new Lake Erie College record with an automatic qualifying jump of 15.64 (15.3 feet) in the triple jump to lead the way for the Storm at the Division II Challenge held at SPIRE Institute.


Postwaite's jump earned him an automatic qualification for a return trip the NCAA Division-II Indoor National Championships, as well as an United States Indoor provisional qualification. The jump is the third-highest in D-II this year and 20th overall in the country. Postwaite also earned a second-place finish in the high jump at 2.03 meters.
