Tiffin's Fisher and Findlay's Vicars Chosen As GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. -  Tiffin University freshman Colin Fisher (Delta, Ohio) and University of Findlay senior Derrick Vicars (Genoa, Ohio/University of Cincinnati) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

Colin Fisher hit the NCAA Division II Provisional Standard as the Tiffin University men's track and field team competed at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio. Fisher helped lead the men to a third place finish by running a 3:51.77 to win the 1500. It was the second fastest time in school history and the fifth fastest time in the country this season.

Derrick Vicars - University of Findlay
Senior -
Genoa, Ohio/University of Cincinnati

Derrick Vicars helped the Oilers to a fourth place finish at the Toledo Collegiate Challenge by finishing first in both the discus and shot put.  Vicars won the discus with a NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 53.60m and took top honors in the shot put with a NCAA automatic qualifying and school record breaking heave of 18.38m.  His also added a second place finish in the hammer throw with a NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 59.49m.
