Ashland's Windle and Findlay's Vicars Chosen As GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. -  Ashland University freshman Drew Windle (New Albany, Ohio) and University of Findlay senior Derrick Vicars (Genoa, Ohio/University of Cincinnati) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

Drew Windle won the 800 (1:51.99) at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational last Saturday. That time is the sixth best in the country this season.  Windle helped the AU men finish second at the event.

Derrick Vicars came away with a pair of wins at the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio as he won the shot put with a NCAA automatic qualifying and school record breaking toss of 61'02.75 and also captured first in the discus throw with an automatic qualifying and school record breaking heave of 181'07. Vicars also finished fifth in the hammer throw with a NCAA provisional toss of 188'01.
