Ashland's Horn and Findlay's Vicars Chosen As GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. - Ashland University senior Joe Horn (Waynesfield, Ohio/Waynesfield-Goshen) and the University of Findlay Derrick Vicars (Genoa, Ohio/Univ. of Cincinnati) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

Ashland University senior Joe Horn competed at the Bulls Invitational in Tampa, Fla., last weekend. He was second in the 200 (21.04) and third in the 100 (10.59).

 

 

 

 

 

 

GLIAC Men's Outdoor Field "Athlete of the Week":

The University of Findlay senior Derrick Vicars had an outstanding meet at the Wake Forest Open on March 15-16 with two first place finishes and one second place finish.

Vicars won the hammer throw with a provisional toss of 194’07, which is also the top mark in the nation at the NCAA Division II level this season.  He then added a first place finish in the discus with a NCAA provisional and school record breaking heave of 181’07, also the top mark in the nation.

His second place finish came in the shot put as he posted a NCAA automatic qualifying toss of 62’01.
