Ashland's Windle and LEC's Dudley Chosen As GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. - Ashland University sophomore Drew Windle (New Albany, Ohio) and junior Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

Ashland University sophomore Drew Windle received the Tony Wilson Award (outstanding male track athlete) last Saturday at the Sea Ray Relays at the University of Tennessee. Windle won the 800 Showcase in 1:48.48. That's the fastest time in the country (NCAA II) this season. Windle was part of the 4X4 relay that was third in 3:08.01. That's the third fastest time in the nation (NCAA II) this spring.

 

 

 

 

 

 

GLIAC Men's Outdoor Field "Athlete of the Week":

 

 

Jamil Dudley - Lake Erie College
Junior - Massillon, Ohio/Massillon

Lake Erie College junior All-American Jamil Dudley earned a chance to defend his outdoor national high jump title by automatically qualifying for the 2013 NCAA Division II Championships Saturday at the George Mason Spring Invitational. Dudley won the high jump at George Mason by clearing the bar at 7’ 2 ½” (2.20 meters) on his final jump.  He earlier cleared 2.18 meters on his fifth jump of the day to garner the automatic berth.  Dudley has now qualified for the national championships six times overall in his career and earned All-American honors at his previous five appearances.  Most recently he finished second at the Indoor Championships in Birmingham in March.
