Tiffin's Marcelin and Findlay's Welch Chosen As GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

 

BAY CITY, Mich. -  Tiffin University senior Wilner Marcelin (Miami, Fla./Florida International) and University of Findlay junior Justin Welch (Luckey, Ohio/Eastwood) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

 

GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week:

Wilner Marcelin - Tiffin University
Senior - Miami, Fla. - Florida International

Tiffin University senior Wilner Marcelin ran 14.16 to win the 100-meter hurdles at the Wittenberg Tiger Invitational.  He hit the NCAA Provisional Standard and broke the school record of 14.27 set in 2010 by Ramone Brant.  Marcelin's time is fifth fastest in the country.

Justin Welch - University of Findlay
Junior - Luckey, Ohio/Eastwood

University of Findlay Junior Justin Welch had a big weekend for the Oilers at the Bellarmine Invitational as he took first place in the hammer throw invite with a NCAA automatic qualifying heave of 218’06.  He also finished second in the discus with a NCAA provisional toss of 173’06.
