BAY CITY, Mich. - Ashland University junior Drew Windle (New Albany, Ohio) and senior Donald Duke (Clarington, Ohio/Hannibal River) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

Junior - New Albany, Ohio
Ashland University junior Drew Windle won the 800 meters at the George Mason Invitational last Saturday. His time was 1:46.91. That's the second fastest time in the country this season - all divisions. The field at George Mason included more than 70 other professional and Division I competitors. That time is 10th on the all-time NCAA Division II list. Windle's time is the fastest by an NCAA Division II runner since 1997.

Senior - Clarington, Ohio/Hannibal River
Ashland University senior Donald Duke finished first in the shot put at the All-Ohio Meet at the University of Cincinnati. His winning mark measured 61-7.75. That's an automatic qualifier for nationals and it is the longest throw in the nation (NCAA II).
