Michigan Tech's Brandon Kampstra and Northern Michigan's Mallory Celeya Chosen As GLIAC Men's & Women's Cross Country "Runners of the Week", Respectively

BAY CITY, Mich. - Michigan Technological University sophomore Brandon Kampstra (Cross Plains, Wisc.) and Northern Michigan University junior Mallory Celeya (North Hollywood, Calif.) have been chosen as the Men's & Women's Cross Country "Runners of the Week", respectively.

Michigan Technological University sophomore Bradon Kampstra was the top finisher for the Huskies at the Blugold Invitational hosted by University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Cross Plains, Wisconsin, native finished 13th in the eight-kilometer race in a time of 25:51. As a team the Huskins finished sixth out of 17 teams.

GLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week:

 Mallory Celeya
Northern Michigan University

(JR, North Hollywood, Calif.)

Junior Mallory Celaya was the top finisher for the Northern Michigan University cross country team at the Blugold Invite at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, in 19th place on Saturday (Sept. 22). Celaya, a native of North Hollywood, California, crossed the finish line in 22:53 in her second race as a Wildcat. She finished seventh overall in her first race at UW-Parkside the weekend before. The Wildcats finished sixth at the Blugold Invite.
