BAY CITY, Mich. - Malone University sophomore Andrew Trusty (Sycamore, Ohio) and Grand Valley State University freshman Jessica Janecke (Scales Mound, Ill.) have been chosen as the Men's & Women's Cross Country "Runners of the Week", respectively.

Malone University sophomore Andrew Trusty was the top finisher for the Pioneers at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships, hosted by Cedarville University, last Saturday. Leading Malone to an eighth-place team finish among 44 college and university teams in the state, Trusty cruised through the 8 kilometer course in a time of 24:58.07 to finish an impressive ninth among 301 runners in the event.

Jessica Janecke

Redshirt freshman Jessica Janecke ran the second-fastest 5k cross country time in GVSU history at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday (Sept. 29). Janecke was the top Division II finisher, completing the course in a time of 17:25.99 to finish 30th in the gold 5 kilometer, the highlight race of the meet. Her performance led the Lakers against a host of Division I competition, as the Lakers finished 13th out of 31 schools, 28 of which were Division I.
