BAY CITY, Mich. - The University of Findlay senior infielder Carly Borders (Lake Villa, Ill./Graylake North) and Ferris State University senior pitcher Dana Bowler (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) and have been chosen as the GLIAC Softball "Player of the Week" and "Pitcher of the Week", respectively.

The University of Findlay senior
first basemen Carly Borders led the Oilers to a perfect 8-0 record
last week by hitting .454. Borders drove in 13 runs during
the week and scored 12 more. She hit three home runs,
recorded three triples and walked five times. The Lake Villa,
Ill. native is hitting .347 on the season with eight home runs and
33 runs batted in. She also leads the conference with 23
walks.

Ferris State University senior pitcher Dana Bowler registered a perfect 4-0 mark over the weekend as the Bulldogs captured four of a possible six league road wins. Bowler tossed 30 innings with four complete games and allowed only five runs and 17 hits. She struck out 36 batters and walked only eight while registering an impressive 0.70 earned run average. In addition, the veteran ace also pitched two shutouts, which included a 5-0 victory to open the trip at Wayne State on Friday along with a thrilling 1-0 victory over Tiffin in nine innings on Sunday.
