BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University senior Briauna Taylor (Livonia, Mich./Livonia Franklin) and Wayne State University senior Briana Lee (Canton, Mich./Salem) have been chosen as the GLIAC Softball "Player of the Week" and "Pitcher of the Week", respectively.

Grand Valley State University senior Briauna Taylor has helped the Lakers get off to an 11-4 start by hitting .442 and recording eight multi-hit games so far this season. The team’s starting shortstop, Taylor leads all GLIAC players in home runs (six), RBI (29), and total bases (45), while her 23 hits and 18 runs are third-most. She has at least one hit and one RBI in 10 of her last 12 games, including a 2-homer, 5-run, 9-RBI day in wins over University of the Sciences and Chestnut Hill on Mar. 3. Wayne State University junior pitcher Briana Lee has compiled a
10-0 record in 11 appearances this season. She has struck out
97 while allowing 13 walks and just 30 hits in 66.1 innings.
Opponents are batting .133 off her. Lee has tossed four
complete game shutouts and been a part of two other
whitewashes. She has wins over then #12-LIU Post, at
#29-Florida Tech, #18-Caldwell and #33-New Haven. Lee has
allowed just one earned run (two total) in her last 50 innings
pitched.
