BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University junior (Amanda Best Parker, Colo./Ponderosa) and Sophomore Sarah Vrabel (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) have been chosen as the GLIAC Softball  "Player of the Week" and  "Pitcher of the Week", respectively.

Saginaw Valley State University junior catcher Amanda Best led the Cardinals to an undefeated four win weekend against conference opponents Walsh and Lake Erie. She averaged .462 with an on base percentage of  .562 and a slugging percentage of 1.308, scoring seven runs as well as driving in seven. The catcher had six hits on the weekend which included two doubles and three home runs.

GLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week:

Canfield, Ohio/Canfield

Saginaw Valley State University sophomore pitcher Sarah Vrabel led the Cardinals to four conference victories against Walsh and Lake Erie. Vrabel pitched 13 innings in two outings including a 10 inning 2-1 victory in game one against Walsh. She gave up just eight hits on the weekend with an ERA of 1.38. Vrabel also delivered a single in her only at bat.
